  • Does it show on the front end?

  • Do I need to have a Micro SD card to record?
  • The camera is capable of 2 types of recordings.
    -When viewing the camera if you select to take a snapshot or record using the buttons under the camera view these pictures/videos will be stored locally on your mobile device. However, with recording you would need to be viewing the camera the whole time and start/stop the recording manually, this feature is only designed for a few minutes of recording.
    -With the SD card installed you can configure the camera to record directly to the Micro SD card, these settings can be found in the camera setting via the mobile app. There are instructions for these features under the FAQ section on the product support page.

    To View recorded footage, navigate to the "Image" button on the bottom of the app home screen, select the camera you want to view footage for and select "SD card recordings" if you are using an SD card to record or "Local Media" if you are not using an SD card.

  • How can I setup recording with a Micro SD card?
  • With Black Label Cam you can record to a Micro SD card up to 32GB (Micro SD card not included).


    -Insert the Micro SD card into the back of the camera, the SD card can only be inserted one way do not force the card into the SD card slot.

    -Launch the Black Label Cam app
    -Select “More” on the bottom right corner

    -Select “Camera Setting”, then select the camera you want to turn on motion detection alerts for.

    -Select “SD Card Setting”

    -Select "Format SD card", a pop up will appear asking you to confirm this action select "OK".

    -Wait 1 minute for the SD card format to complete and make sure the "Timer recording" function is set to ON as pictured above.
    -Your Black Label Cam will now record directly to the Micro SD card inserted into your camera.
    -To View recorded footage, navigate to the "Image" button on the bottom of the app home screen, select the camera you want to view footage for and select "SD card recordings".

  • How do I change my password?
  • There are 2 types of passwords associated with the camera:
    -The Account password (the password chosen to create the account when the app was initially launched on your device)
    -The Camera password, this password is used to access the camera, it is important to change this password from the default 888888 password to prevent other users from adding the camera to a different account or mobile device.

    To change the Account password
    Navigate to the "More..." tab on the bottom right of the app home screen

    Select "Account", then select "Password Setting" (For Android users select "Revise login password")
    Type in your old password (the password you created when you first registered for the account) and then the new password you would like to use.
    Type in the new password again in the confirm password field and then select "Done" (For Android users select "Confirm")

    To change the Camera password RECOMMENDED
    Navigate to the "More..." tab on the bottom right of the app home screen

    Select "Password Setting" (For Android users select "Change Password")
    Type in the default password (888888) and then the new password you would like to use.
    Type in the new password again in the confirm password field and then select "Done"

  • How do I setup motion detection alerts and push notifications?
  • To setup motion detection alerts and push notifications follow the instructions below.


    For iPhone users:
    -Launch the Black Label Cam app
    -Select “More” on the bottom right corner

    -Select “Camera Setting”, then select the camera you want to turn on motion detection alerts for.

    -Select “Alarm Setting”

    -Toggle the On/Off switch for motion detection and adjust the sensitivity to your liking.

    -Select the “Back” button on the top left corner of the app 3 times until you are back to the “More” tab of the app
    -Select “Message Notification”

    -Toggle the On/Off with to turn on Push notifications for the desired camera.

    NOTE: If you did not accept to receive push notifications from the Black Label Cam app the first time you launched it, please navigate to your iPhone’s settings>Notifications and Allow Notifications for the Black Label Cam app.

    For Android users:

    -Launch the Black Label Cam app
    -Select “More” on the bottom right corner

    -Toggle the On/Off switch for motion detection and adjust the sensitivity to your liking.

    -Select the “Done” button on the top right corner of the app

  • I am unable to connect my camera to WiFi/internet using the Quick Setup or Manual setup
  • In order to successfully connect to WiFi/Internet your network encryption should be WPA2. Please make sure you are not using any special characters in your password such as !,@,# etc. Additionally, if your WiFi network has a 5Ghz band please make sure you are trying to connect using a 2.4Ghz band. In your router settings please check the broadcast mode and make sure it is broadcasting in b/g instead of b/g/n.

  • The image quality is not very clear, how can I fix this?
  • You can adjust the image quality of your camera by following the below instructions.

    For iPhone users:
    -Launch the Black Label Cam app
    -Select the camera you want to adjust the image quality for and view the camera in full screen by selecting the full screen button on the bottom right corner of the camera view.

    -Tap anywhere on the screen to show the options menu and select “Image Quality” on the bottom left corner of the screen.

    PLEASE NOTE: When selecting a higher image quality, depending on the internet connection speed of your mobile device and network your camera is connected to, you may experience latency in the image transmission or when trying to Pan & Tilt the camera. If you experience slow connection or buffering when viewing the camera please change to a lower Image Quality setting. It is recommended to select “Mobile Phone” or “Normal” Image Quality for best results.

    For Android users:
    -Launch the Black Label Cam app
    -Select the camera you want to adjust the image quality for and swipe to the left on the options menu below the camera view.

    -You can move the “Definition” slider to adjust the image quality.

    PLEASE NOTE: When selecting a higher image quality, depending on the internet connection speed of your mobile device and network your camera is connected to, you may experience latency in the image transmission or when trying to Pan & Tilt the camera. If you experience slow connection or buffering when viewing the camera please change to a lower Image Quality setting.
